I recently got accepted into a research program via my college. It's a 4 week thing, at the end of the 4 weeks I'd be paid a stipend of about $1,600. My mom is full aware of the fact I got accepted, and that the money is most likely taxed. Here's where the issues start.
I cannot pay for college in my own. For this year alone, I have to take about $9,000 worth of loans just to live off campus. I made it clear that most of my stipend money would be going into savings so I could start paying off my loans, as I don't know when I'll get a job.
About 30 minutes ago, my mom walks into my room and asks to have a talk with me. I agree, since I didn't think it was another serious. She then says I'm being "selfish," then goes on to say that since I'll be getting over $1,000 that I should be able to give her $200. I told her (again) that only $300 is being pulled out so I can buy clothes, school supplies, and have a little extra. She says I can afford to give $200 to her for my sister. I told my mom that I can buy my sister clothes along with mine when I use the $300 I set aside. She calls me selfish, compares me to my father (whom I'm not on good terms with) and says she cannot stand to look at me.
The move-in date for my research program is in about 2 months. She said she'll buy a bus ticket and send me to the campus that way. We live about 4 hours from the college I'm going to. She then said I'd owe her the bus ticket to and from the college, along with everything she's paid on my phone.
I did not respond to any of this and simply went to my room. AITAH for indirectly saying I wouldn't give her $200?
small edit: I woke up the next morning and she shut off my phones mobile data access.
small edit 2: My mom called. she said that me and my sister are being spoiled and entitled. she then started crying because she has to work 2 jobs to pay off her credit card debt. she said she took a new one out to pay for my college stuff. She then said I have 1 week to clean the entire house or she won't let me go to prom. I bought my prom tickets with my own money. On top of all of this, I have finals this week.
