I just finished my first year in the Life Sciences Gateway program, and I just picked my specializations. I really want to pursue a minor in math, but since I plan to apply to dental school in the future, I don't want to risk tanking my gpa. It is currently at a 3.91, which is still not competitive as most applicants have a 3.95+.
I have always been interested in math, and I didn't pick a specialization like mathbio because most of the math in that specialization is stats, which I'm not particularly interested in. I also didn't choose math and stats since that would not give me the prerequisites I need for applying to dental school.
My question is how doable would getting a 3.95 gpa be, if I do pursue a minor in math? And should I even risk it? Any advice would be appreciated, thank you!
