AC help

EDIT: Solved. Thank you

Hello, long story short last year my AC worked fine. With the help of a friend we installed a new smart thermostat this winter, he also changed some control wiring in the furnace that he said was wrong. The furnace and thermostat worked fine the rest of winter. Come time to turn on the AC it doesn’t work.
I have 240v going In. I have 0V between the control wires, but I have 27v from either control to ground. (Wether or not it’s calling for AC at the stat)
If I press the plunger of the contactor it turns on and blows cold.
We tried a new contactor but same thing.
Should I have 24v between control lines…?
What else? Thanks in advance

2001 trd, 3.4L. 4x4. rear locker. Manual. Sun roof. 319km (200k miles) frame is perfect. Paint is mediocre but no rust. Newer Bilsteins in the rear and older front suspension. Timing belt and water pump done 100k ish ago. Front fiberglass fenders aren’t painted and hood and canopy don’t match. Interior is pretty good. In BC Canada. What do you think it’s worth? Or want to trade for 3rd gen 4Runner..

Somewhat duramax related… anyone know how to get this film off the canopy door? It’s bubbling and looks bad on my lly!
