I took some antibiotics at the beginning of March. I went to the pharmacy telling them I had a yellow tongue for 2 weeks. I got over the counter medication (miconazole 2% oral gel). Took it for a week. Went to the GP. Got prescribed nystatin. Week later went on a course of fluconazole. A week after that got prescribed more nystatin but realised I was taking it wrong, I thought the emphasis was on "after food" not 4x a day every 4 hours. Went to the GP finally a week ago, worried it hadn't cleared up. She said she just saw my tongue papillae (I think). Said it looks normal. She was going to swab it to make sure it is actually definitely thrush but as nothing was there I got cleared. I didn't realise I could get swabbed and it actually tested. The pharmacist I mentioned my symptoms to didn't look at my tongue I wasn't sure if he was supposed to but I believe nurses that I saw up to this point said it was thrush.

I'm pretty sure my tongue still had a white ish line on it when I left the GP but figure this is normal, thing is I dont usually look at my tongue so I couldn't 100% tell you what is normal. I also got told my mouth is dry, I hydrate a lot, got tested for diabetes a few times, came back clear. Thing is, it looks slightly different throughout the day. Sometimes it seems to have more yellow, sometimes white. Mostly in the middle of my tongue and at the back. Maint thing is, my mouth tastes bad, especially after food but not super consistent, at the back. Usually sour but currently tastes more bitter. I've been brushing my teeth and my tongue 3 times a day, it improves the symptoms a bit. It does look worse when I take it out of my mouth and it dries out but sometimes it looks better and then another time it can look worse.
