Hello experts,

2013 mk7 1.2 petrol golf (tsi bluemotion) threw ‘check engine oil’ this morning, car was serviced back in July 2025 (ran c. 8k kms since then). Is this okay to happen? Anything alarming?

Q1 Am I okay to top up the engine oil? If so would you recommend any brand/ type I should purchase?

Or should I drain the oil and fill her up?

Thanks in advance!

Hi all,

I’m 40 and generally healthy, and I’m looking to get a routine health blood panel done (things like cholesterol, diabetes markers, liver/kidney function, thyroid, vitamins, etc.).

I’d really appreciate advice on:

  1. Where is best to get these tests done in the Ireland, preferably in Dublin?
    • Would my GP be able to refer this a test?
    • Private options (I reviewed VHi and couldnt see a single package that covers all of these)
  2. How does the process work in practice?
  3. How much should I expect to pay?
    • Any options that offer good value for money
  4. Anything to watch out for?
    • Tests that are often unnecessary
    • Tests you’re glad you did at this age
    • Any clinics/providers you’d recommend or avoid
