Do any professors regret becoming professors ?

I want to be a professor but have no clue what to do

I am a 21 F subbing at a high school , and am about to start a secondary English education degree but there’s an issue . The goal was always to become a professor , and I’ve always loved English but after spending times in English classrooms throughout middle and high school IM SO BORED . I still want to teach but what ??? The college I go too offers a Spanish education degree to teach Spanish and I’m really thinking about it!

Are there any Spanish professors out there who don’t recommend it or who do ?? I’ve wanted to be an English teacher my whole life but after spending time in an English classroom I don’t think I want to . However I deeply enjoyed subbing for Spanish ! Or does anyone know any other education degrees that can lead me down that path to become a professor. Do you guys regret it

AITA for reporting my student with autism

I 21 (F) am student teaching right now at a middle school but specifically 6th grade and I have a student in my third period named “Blake”. The school that I work at doesn’t separate special needs students but instead just gives them personal educational assistants .

Blake has taken a liking to me and that’s why I feel so awful .

We were doing a project and he asked me to grab a marker for him , but I think he forgot he asked so when I went to grab it he yelled no and smacked my hand . I was shocked and walked away after telling him we don’t do that gently , and when the day was over I went to our assistant principal and told her that he had yelled at me and smacked my hand .

I told The teacher in the classroom with us but she didn’t say anything but told me I needed to report it under all circumstances.

The assistant principal told me I did nothing wrong and that I needed to report that , but in my heart I feel like he was just overstimulated and could have just been redirected by the teacher.
