My dog just got diagnosed with stress induced stomach ulcers (we just moved internationally) and is on a myriad of medications for him to feel better, including an appetite stimulant because he’s not hungry at all right now (very unlike him)

I have been cheffing it up in the kitchen to get him some calories. Chicken, beef, pork, rice, vegetables, all cooked in various ways to entice him. He won’t even look at his dry kibble, which I know he needs for vitamins and minerals so I’m trying not to stress about that.

I wanted to ask here - is there anything your dog goes absolutely crazy for? I need your recs. Anything. There’s no budget, nothing too obscure, nothing I won’t seek out to make my little guy just a bit excited about food right now. His vet says he can eat literally ANYTHING, any calories are good calories right now because he’s eating barely anything.

Thank you all in advance❤️

Looking for any success stories or helpful advice for those who have had a dog/treated a dog with stomach ulcers?

Our dog finally got diagnosed with ulcers in his stomach after 2 weeks of vomiting bile and having no appetite (weird for him) and he’s been taking Zitac (3x a day) and Ompeprazol (3x a day)

Having a dog who loves to eat go to wanting absolutely no food/looking like a shell of himself has been so so stressful, it takes me an hour to get him to eat some morsels of high value food, and I have to do this 4-5 times a day so he doesn’t just have bile in his stomach irritating his ulcers. He has been on his meds for 2 weeks and the vomiting has decreased but he still has some really bad days.

Any positive news or ideas would be so helpful at this point. I’ve just gotten an appetite stimulant from our vet but I’m really unsure what to do because he doesn’t seem to be “bouncing back” like a lot of other stories I have read.

Thanks for reading, if his condition doesn’t improve we will be doing even more tests next week.
