For context:
My girlfriend and I just switched to the Kobo Clara Colour.
I was using a Kindle Colorsoft and she has a Kindle Paperwhite.
We’re not heavy readers, but last year I averaged about 1 book a month and want to keep that going.
There are a few things I’m not sure about and I’m hoping I’m just missing something:
1. Family sharing
Is there no way to share books between accounts?
On Kindle we could use family sharing, but on Kobo it seems like if I buy a book, she can’t access it. Am I wrong?
2. Ebook + audiobook sync
This might sound picky, but I like switching between reading and listening.
On Kindle, ebooks and audiobooks sync pretty smoothly. Does Kobo not support that kind of syncing?
3. Audiobook selection
The audiobook library feels a lot smaller, which kind of ties into point #2.
Is that just how Kobo is, or am I looking in the wrong place?
What I do like so far:
Honestly, I really like the device overall, and want to not return it.
• Not being tied to Amazon
• The UI feels cleaner and more enjoyable
• Seeing progress in the header and footer is super motivating
• The reading stats on the home page make it feel more like a game. Keeps me reading a few minutes everyday.
• Integration with Libby is amazing
