I am going on a first date tonight. The person I’m going out with picked a restaurant that is quite far away from me about 4 1/2 miles since I live in a city that means that it would probably 35 to 45 minutes to get there. I just mapped it and I realize that I will either have to pay almost $100 in Ubers or use a parking garage that will cost me a lot of money and then deal with getting myself in and out of the parking garage, which can be scary and sometimes a little bit dangerous at night. I asked the guy I’m going out with what the parking situation is like and his response was pretty much just I don’t know. I don’t have to drive so I don’t deal with it. The lack of consideration for the effort I will now need to put into to getting it him a bit of a turnoff for me. I’m happy to go 50/50 on effort but this feels like excessive on my end. It also makes me wonder a little bit what he would be like in a relationship because even while I asked him about parking, he didn’t even seem to consider the implications of my question or
where it could come from. He also didn’t ask me how far away this place was from where I live. To be fair he did give me the location about five days ago and I said I was happy to meet him however I forgot to map the place and how far away it was from me so I just didn’t realize it would be such a hassle to get there. I was super busy all week.
I was thinking of sending the following text “I just mapped the location of the resturant and it’s pretty far from me. I’m either going to have to pay around $100 in Uber charged or use a parking garage which is fine during the day but a little scary at night. I think it looks like a really cool venue but is there any where a little closer to the where I live we could go?”
