The TCON overheating issue is a known issue on Macbook Pro 2017s, causing white/black lines on the bottom part of the screen after an hour of two of usage.
I did a lot of browsing to find fixes, but no fixes have I found other than completely replacing the screen, which is very frustrating.
After knowing that it is indeed the TCON overheating, I thought of adding a thermal pad on top of the TCON chip… so I did.
After testing the device. It really is now stable, even when rendering videos… the screen no longer flicker or shows horizontal lines at the bottom.
Although it’s too early to post this, but I am still observing it.
let me know if you also did this and did it work?
