What recorder do you guys use to connect your Shure Sm58? Any advice

I have the old h6 zoom recorder. Years have passed and now the new h6 has the 32 bit float. Should I buy a new h6 or what would you guys recommend? Originally I may have overdid it with the h6. I may not need that may channels to record. Perhaps 2 people singing is what I’m looking at.

Which mic does everyone use? I want to buy an external mic for my Sony a7iv. Watching YouTube videos just confuses me because every YouTuber has their favorite or sponsored by that specific company. Also how do you guys set it up? Is it connected to a zoom?
