Hi everyone,

Bit of a long shot, but I’m an Australian medical student hoping to organise an elective placement in London later this year/early next year — ideally in internal medicine at one of the Imperial-associated hospitals (these seem to be the only ones even remotely able to take international students at this time of year).

Imperial have told me I need to secure a consultant supervisor myself before I can formally apply so I’m currently cold-emailing consultants.

Just wondering if anyone here:

• has done an elective at Imperial/other London hospitals,
• knows consultants/departments that are receptive to international elective students,
• or has any advice on the best way to approach this process
