So if anyone can help tell me some more about this I would appreciate it, found at a local antique / vendor store, and first time posting in this sub.

I think its real damascus and I believe someone custom made it? I paid just under $50, overall length is about 14 and a quarter inches, blade is 9 inches

Reverse Google image search doesn't pull up anything the same shape.

My observations,

It was rusted on one side stored in the sheath at the store with a bare spot where the snap was so I think that confirms its high carbon steel? Cleaned with gun oil and a cotton rag. the rust sort of follows one of the two steels more than the other so I believe its actual folded damascus? No discernable makers mark other than maybe that light x on the back in the middle of the file work if thats not a mistake? Enough small imperfections to give it character, small gap where steel enters the handle for example.

Thoughts? Damascus? Someone with a hobby or from a factory?

Regardless, happy with the buy! Might process some chickens with it we'll see
