Did anyone else feel stuck after the beginner stage?

I feel like I made crazy fast progress when I first started, but now things have really slowed down. I can’t tell if I’m still improving or if I’ve just hit a plateau and need a break. Is this normal? How did you push through it?

I always assumed pronunciation would be the hardest part of Spanish, but I was wrong.

I totally thought pronunciation was going to be my biggest hurdle with Spanish, but listening comprehension is killing me. Native speakers are just so fast, and it all sounds like one long word. I do fine with audio lessons, but real life conversations? I’m lost. What’s one thing you totally underestimated when you started?

I’ve always felt awkward trying to speak Spanish when I’m clearly not fluent. Is it seen as respectful, or is it just easier for everyone if I stick to English? I want to be polite, but I don't want to hold up the line or complicate things.

I feel like I’ve hit that stage where everything makes sense until I have to respond, then my brain just stalls. I’ve tried a few different things but nothing has really helped me get comfortable speaking to other people yet. What did you do that helped?
