Hi everyone, I just received my final payslip from my previous employer (Ireland) and noticed a deduction of €404.07 described as “OSP Contra Payment”.

I had 2 sick days in April ( during my last weeks working there ) and submitted a doctor’s cert from the HSE. My understanding is that the cert covers the absence, but apparently the company deducted these days from my final pay anyway.

Is this normal practice in Ireland? Does submitting a sick cert not entitle you to sick pay? Is there any way to challenge this?
