Location: Chicago IL
Hi - My car was swiped the other day when another driver veered into my lane on the off ramp. There's no damage to my car or myself. I turned off to a side street thinking they would too to exchange info but they just kept going.
I tried reporting to police and they basically said if there's no damage, then no report is needed.
Do I even bother telling my insurance? My bigger worry is the other driver making a claim against me, which I realize might be a small risk or even a non-risk, but just making sure I cover my bases.

Edit: I just realized even filing a no-claim report could cause my insurance to go up, so now I'm really not sure what to do.
