Going through a rough patch of layoffs and simply wondering what I want to do in life.
Well, actually I know what I want to do next but it requires going back to school, retraining for a few years, working in a private practice in healthcare (coming from a background in tech). I'm thinking of doing something that isn't vulnerable to AI.
Probablem is I have no idea about how I make connections in a completely new industry in my late 30s. I do know how to take the risk of leaving a "stable" job to do something that might not pay off for a few years. I don't have family to fall back on but I also have that feeling if I don't take the risk now it might be forced on me at any point as more of us are laid off from the perceived benefits of AI.
Honestly just feeling so lost even after 15 years of building a career.
