Okay besties I need some advice (or to just vent). I am on contract at a hospital that I had to bring my husband in for treatment (10/10 abdominal pain). I brought him here because I have always been impressed with the level of care and professionalism shown to patients. This ER trip has rubbed me the wrong way completely.
Dr 1 in the primary team consulted Dr 2. Dr 1 and 2 are not communicating and telling us completely different things in which Dr 2 actually insulted Dr 1 and basically called him incompetent in front of us. I had already lost confidence in the staff when I inquired about his kidney functioning post IV contrast --- stage 3 CKD(Dr 1 said he will ask Dr 2 about his recommendations, Dr 2 basically said that's not his job and it's for Dr 1 to make the decision on recommendation)
To spare y'all the drama and boredom, I had to ask the charge nurse on the night shift for the patient advocate contact information. My husband does not want me to put a complaint in because he feels it may jeopardize my contract (I'm on a different floor) but I'm so mad and ultimately I feel alone because I brought him here so I could have some sort of help (I feel like I made a bad decision doing so).
Do y'all think if I put a complaint in that this will cause them to cancel my contract? Or at least put me on their radar?
--- to be honest after writing the above, I feel so much better and less pissed.
