I started making a baby blanket for my friend when she was 6 months pregnant. Unfortunately, she delivered her baby stillborn at around 7 months. I've decided to continue the blanket, to give to her as a keepsake.
I want to add the baby's name to the blanket. I was thinking of crocheting it, but I'm already too deep into the project to add it, plus I am doing a Magic Ring star blanket, so it wouldn't work.
Any ideas on how to incorporate the baby's name? I don't want to use names on here but it is a 5 letter name, her middle name is 4 letters and I'd like to include the middle name too.
I was thinking a small leather piece with her name and birth date on it? Also open for opinions on whether that's too much.. Not sure how to treat the situation but I know I want to give her the blanket still.
EDIT: I've decided to just gift her the blanket. Just as a "just because" gift. The name was far too personal, and could go one of two ways- so Im scrapping the idea. Thanks for all the responses!!
