I grew up in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and spent most of my life trying to be a faithful, “safe” member—doing what I was taught, trusting leaders, and avoiding doubt.

Over the last couple of years, a combination of personal loss and unexpected questions about my beliefs led me into a very different kind of faith experience than I ever expected.

I wrote this as a personal reflection on what it’s been like to move from a performance-based faith to something more relational and uncertain—especially in my relationship with God.

It’s not meant as an argument or critique of anyone else’s beliefs, just my own experience. I’d appreciate respectful discussion.
