I graduated last year and initially had a clear plan — prepare properly, keep coding, and land a decent tech role. Things were on track for a while.

But in 2025, everything changed. My father’s health suddenly got much worse. He has CKD, which progressed to stage 5 due to complications from pancreatitis. He had to be hospitalized, and since I’m the only one who can take care of him, I had to step in full-time.

Because of that, I couldn’t continue my preparation or stay consistent with coding. Over time, I’ve become really out of touch with everything I had learned. It’s not just a small break anymore — it feels like I’m starting from zero again.

Now I’m in a situation where:

My gap is increasing

The market is already tough for freshers

And without referrals, it feels almost impossible to break in

At this point, I’m not even aiming for something perfect. I just want to start somewhere — any entry point into tech:

Internship

QA / Testing role

Analyst role

Anything that helps me get back in

If anyone has been in a similar situation or has advice on how to restart (skills to focus on, strategies, or realistic entry points), I’d really appreciate it.

I’m willing to put in the work — I just need direction on how to rebuild from here.

Thanks for reading.
