Hi,

My girlfriend and I are trying to come to China this year to teach English - it will be our first time. We have been offered an interview in a KG in Guiyang. Guiyang appeals to us in many many ways - the food looks amazing, nice landscape around, maybe a bit less crazy than the T1s, and near Yunnan and Sichuan which we want to visit.

We aren't worried about western food options etc. Our one concern is about having a social life there, as I know it's not a super international place. My girlfriend has no Mandarin at all really, I have around HSK3 level, so neither of us is really socially functional in Chinese. How is the international community? Do foreigners there feel isolated?
