Looking for a table tennis buddy in Xixiang, Bao’an, Shenzhen 🏓

Looking for a table tennis buddy in Xixiang, Bao’an, Shenzhen 🏓

I’m based in Xixiang, Bao’an, Shenzhen, and I’m looking for someone to play table tennis with regularly. My schedule is pretty flexible — weekday evenings or weekends both work.

Preferably, you:

  • live near Xixiang
  • enjoy playing table tennis (any level is fine)
  • are a native English speaker, so we can also chat in English while playing

I’m mainly looking to stay active, have fun, and improve my spoken English at the same time, so it doesn’t have to be super competitive.

Feel free to message me if you’re interested!

Current Events - In China, the groom arrived at the wedding in a convoy of nine sewage trucks - Pan Haonan and Li Yaqing

30-year-old Pan Haonan and his bride Li Yaqing got engaged in August 2025. Pan graduated from college with a major in video editing, but eventually continued his father's family business, which has been involved in sewage removal for over 20 years. Now, he manages the team himself.

When Pan suggested using sewage tankers instead of traditional wedding cars, the bride supported the idea and called it original and even romantic. The groom's parents were initially against it, but gave in after the girl agreed.

All nine vehicles were thoroughly washed, disinfected, and decorated with red flowers and ribbons. Two belonged to Pan's company, and the rest were borrowed from colleagues in the industry. On one of the vehicles, a banner with the congratulations "To King of sh*t Haonan - Happy Marriage" was even hung.

Pan himself says about this:

“Although we do the dirtiest and most stinky work, the money we earn is clean. Compared to other professions, our industry is quite stable. As long as people eat and go to the bathroom - we will be needed. As long as there is sewage - we will be needed.”

What apps do people in China actually use for daily life besides WeChat and Alipay?

I have been living in China for about six months now and I finally feel like I have the basics down. WeChat and Alipay cover most of my payments and communication. But I keep hearing about other apps that people use for specific things like food delivery, train tickets, bike sharing, or even just finding good restaurants. I know about Meituan and Eleme for food, but I am not sure which one is better or if people use both. Also, I see other people scanning QR codes for shared bikes but I do not know which app to download for that. I am trying to move past the beginner phase and actually use the same tools that locals use every day.

What are the essential apps that you would recommend for someone doing daily life in a medium sized city? I am especially curious about anything that makes travel or ordering things easier without constantly asking friends for help.

Who here is using Openclaw and other AI Agents while in China? How’s it going?

Howdy,

I am getting into this emerging world of AI agents, and want to hear from everyone on how setting one up to work for you from within China is different from another country, such as Korea or the USA, which has a more open internet. Are you having trouble accessing foreign APIs? Can you train your agent to operate a VPN Client just as a human would? What does this look like for you logistically, and how is it helping your work? What kinds of barriers are you running into? What advice do you have for anyone setting one up in China specifically?

感谢各位

LOOKING FOR: Club & pub recommendations in Tianjin / General advice

Hey guys, I’m a Russian student going to Tianjin in August for 2 weeks as part of a study program.

So, APART from the classes and the stuff within my study programme I most definitely NEED to know about the best local clubs and pubs to have some fun in the free time

Thank you in advance!

PS Also can you guys please give me some recommendations on how much money I should take to cover regular needs (food, maybe taxis, maybe souvenirs), what I should be on the lookout for and what form of payment I should use? And what apps I should download? (I am aware of AliPay and WeChat)

I'm building a flying companion for people who live alone — looking for women in Shenzhen to see it in person [Paid Research, 60 min]

Hi,

I'm Leo, the founder of a small robotics startup based in Shenzhen. For the past two years I've been working on something I genuinely believe fills a gap nobody has properly addressed: the quiet loneliness of living alone in a city apartment, especially when having a pet just isn't an option.

We just hit our first real physical prototype, and before we go any further I want to sit with real people — not investors, not advisors — and just watch what happens when they see it for the first time.

The product is called Orbi. It floats. It's round. It lives in your space with you. That's about as much as I want to say before you see it in person.

You're probably the right person if:

  • You're a woman between 24–60
  • You live alone in Shenzhen
  • You've genuinely wanted a pet at some point but couldn't — lease rules, travel schedule, lifestyle, whatever the reason
  • You spend long stretches of time at home by yourself

What the session looks like:

  • ~60–70 minutes, in person in Shenzhen
  • You'll see the prototype and I'll ask you about your life at home — not a sales pitch, mostly me listening
  • No right or wrong answers

What you get:

  • Cash compensation for your time
  • Early access when Orbi launches

If this sounds like you, drop a comment or DM me and I'll reach out to set up a time!

Mix breed in China is a risk? Banned breeds (?)

Hello, those are my dogs (26 kg each). They were stray, so I have no clue which breeds they have inside. Which is your experience with bringing mix breed dogs in China?

There is a risk that someone will says "it's similar to a banned breed - banned!"?

I'm considering Shanghai, Shenzhen or Chengdu (mostly Shenzhen)
