Hi everyone, I’m trying to figure out how to fly with my small dachshund in the cabin and would really appreciate any advice or experiences.

He’s under 8 kg and usually fits in a soft carrier, though it’s a bit snug. I’ve been looking at airline rules and I’m worried he might be slightly over some of the size limits, even though he can comfortably settle inside the bag.

I really don’t want to put him in cargo if I can avoid it.

Has anyone here traveled with a dachshund in cabin between Spain and Central America or on similar long-haul routes? Especially with airlines that are strict about carrier size—did they actually measure, or is it more flexible in practice?

Any tips or personal experiences would really help.

Hola a todos! Estoy un poco bloqueada buscando una solución para poder volar con mi Dachshund (Teckel) en cabina. Pesa menos de 8kg; pero el tema son las medidas: largo 60cm y alto 23cm. Veo que en Avianca ponen un máximo de 55x35x25 cm y 10kg con el transporte incluido. Mi perro cabe dentro del transporte un poco just pero se acomoda.

La verdad no me animo a mandarlo en bodega. Me dejaran volver con el?

Alguien tiene alguna sugerencia para volar desde Espana a Centro America? Quiero evitar pasar por Panama y USA que he leído que son muy difíciles para pasar con perros aunque sea de escala.

Agradecería cualquier ayuda, o comentario si alguien ya ha viajado en Avianca en un situación similar. 😄
