Omen 16 vs. Helios Neo 16s vs. Legion 5 (RTX 5060) - Need Advice!
I'm planning to upgrade from my ROG Strix G15 G513RM (RTX 3060, Ryzen 7 6800H). I use my laptop daily for coding and gaming, and I have narrowed my choices down to three RTX 5060 models.
Here are the configurations I am looking at:
1. HP Omen 16 (~$1,326)
Specs: Ryzen 9 8940HX, 24GB DDR5 RAM, 1TB SSD
Screen: 165Hz IPS.
Why it’s here: It’s the best value for the price, I get 24GB RAM and 1TB Storage which is perfect for times like this.
2. Acer Predator Helios Neo 16s AI (~$1,503)
Specs: Core Ultra 7 255HX, 16GB RAM, 1TB SSD.
Screen: 240Hz OLED Display.
Why it’s here: That screen is a massive jump. But I’m worried about the heating issues I’ve heard about. It’s a slim chassis (<19.9mm). Is the 200$ jump from the Omen worth it for the 240Hz OLED?
3. Lenovo Legion 5 Gen 10 (~$1,514)
Specs: Ryzen AI 7 350, 16GB RAM, 512GB SSD.
Screen: 165Hz OLED + IR Camera.
Concern: The most expensive option here, yet it has the smallest SSD.
Should I stick to the HP Omen and save my money, or is the 240Hz OLED experience on the Acer truly a generational leap that I'll regret missing out on? Or should I pay the "Legion premium" for the build quality despite the lower storage?
These are local prices from my country before discount and shipping costs.
Would love to hear from anyone!
