Herald-Leader stories on the Mayoral Race
hello all! today, my (what i think will be, anyway!) final story about the upcoming mayoral primary election just went up. i wanted to share the stories i have done so far specifically on the election so you all can read them and learn what you need to know about the candidates. all of these are gift links, so you don't have to stress about a paywall. (i have never had a gift link expire, but some of these links are a tad old - if they aren't working, sound off in the comments)
- Lexington mayor celebrates economic wins, lower crime rates in annual speech (not technically an election story, but useful to know for voters what Gorton chooses to celebrate as her major accomplishments)
- With $100K raised, real estate broker, business owner Raquel Carter launches Lexington mayor campaign
- Snow, housing, crime were big topics for Lexington mayoral candidates in forum (forum attended by Gorton, Carter, Darnell Tagaloa and Greg O'Neal)
- Lexington mayor candidate (Carter) labels herself a Democrat. Why it matters in nonpartisan race
- Lexington mayor candidates don’t see eye to eye with incumbent over new city hall (debate attended by Gorton, Carter, Tagaloa and C.E. Huffman)
- the following stories feature responses from Gorton, Carter, Huffman, Tagaloa and O'Neal:
- What each Lexington mayoral candidate would do to address housing problems
- What would Lexington mayor candidates to do fix city’s snow, ice response?
- How Lexington mayor candidates would improve traffic, bike, walking safety
- How each mayoral candidate would pursue economic development for Lexington
i hope this is useful! thanks for reading.
