Can anybody help me figure out how I can get this car seat to fit tighter to the car seat? My daughter is 3 1/2, forward facing. We got this car seat when she broke her femur and it was in my primary vehicle (suburban) but when she got out of the cast, we switched back to her regular car seat.
I am using this seat in our extra car that we use for just day-to-day driving like to the store or short little outings. The car is a 2013 Honda accord.
For some reason, while using the latch anchors (she is still within the range), I have the straps as tight as I can get them, but the seat physically lifts off of the actual car seat by about an inch both from the back at the base of the seat and from the bottom underneath the car seat seat. I hope that makes sense. Think of it like it’s lifting in an L motion?? I can try to get a video in a bit if it doesn’t make sense
I do have the top tether on and as tight as I can get it as well. I never had these issues in my suburban. I also have that place where you squeeze two metal bars together on the bottom popped out, which seemed to help a little bit.
I apologize for my lack of terminology regarding the various parts! I just don’t feel safe with the car seat being able to move so much and I would like to drive the smaller car if possible because of the rising prices of gas😅
