CustomWaypoints GPS Addon for Carbonite (WoTLK 3.3.5a) – Enhanced Navigation, Routing, and Destination Lookup
Hi everyone,
I have been using Carbonite (WotLK 3.3.5a version) a lot lately on Warmane Onyxia, but I’ve noticed it doesn’t handle transports, passages, and cross-continent waypoints very well.
This gets frustrating when you need to use portals, zeppelins, or entrances, or find NPCs. Especially if you’re new and haven’t memorized all the routes (e.g., how to get to the Underbelly PvP vendors).
So I built a small addon around it. It’s a custom “GPS” on top of Carbonite, featuring its own map, data, destination lookup, and routing system for players who want quick and easy waypoint placement and navigation anywhere on the map, route/location recording, and destination lookup.
Basic usage:
- Shift + Left Click on the Carbonite map
- /cw dest — Find destinations
- /cw x,y — Same zone routing
- /cw zone x,y
So far, it seems fairly stable on my setup.
If anyone wants to try it and/or provide feedback, that would be really helpful.
