Would you start a fashion brand with $30k while keeping your job?
Hi everyone,
I’m 27 years old, originally from France, and professionally things are going very well for me. I recently received a great promotion with my company in the UAE, I have a strong position and a good salary.
However, I’ve always had the desire to build something of my own. I’ve managed to save around $30,000, and I would love to launch my own clothing brand.
At this stage, I do not want to leave my job. I want to start small and grow intelligently alongside my career for now. I’ve always been passionate about fashion, and I genuinely believe I have a strong vision and real potential in this field.
My idea would be to start with a very small collection — around 3 or 4 pieces only — and place them in a store under a consignment model (meaning the store only pays me if the items sell, so they get exposure without taking inventory risk).
What do you honestly think about this approach? Has anyone here started a fashion brand this way or worked with stores under this kind of arrangement?
