Seeking help with carb tuning!
G'day people, I have a 2015 Sol Invictus Mercury (Braaap ST250/Qingqi XF230) and I am trying to get it running a bit less lean. I had ordered a rebuild kit for a PZ30 carb, alas, the one i had on the bike was some clone of a clone with have this odd (to me) style of jet in them, can't find squat online about them, even Google Lensing the jet leads me to nothing. (see attached picture)
But here's the problem, even upon installing another PZ30 clone I ordered from Amazon yesterday, Its giving me one of two problems, from idle to wide open it bogs and dies, on the other hand a slow roll on leads the revs to hang uncomfortably long, long enough they are still coming down after I let go of the throttle and go to adjust the idle.
I have swapped floats, tried to adjust the floats via the tab the needle is retained by, taken the clip off the needle's mid divot and sat it at the top divot out of 5.
I cannot fathom what changed, what I've done wrong or what is simply going wrong, im not missing any gaskets, there's no leaks, I've even removed the rinky-dink fuel filter in the hopes it just needed a better flow.
As you may be aware already I am by no means an expert, this is my first bike, its not an ideal bike, but it HAS been working before I tried to enrich the mixture. Albeit with a lot of popping on decel (could be EGR if I am correct) and was fairly responsive before just popping and yellowing my exhaust+steel ties on the heat wrap.
Any advice is appreciated, I have a jet kit coming from amazon tomorrow hopefully, this is not too overwhelming for me, just getting depressed about not having something to ride for the Distinguished Gentleman's Ride on sunday. Cheers - Fish
