Is it possible to change the kernel panic screen?
Is it possible to make a custom kernel panic screen? If it is how?
Also what restrictions does it have? Is there a requirement for a static image or can I play bad apple on kernel panic?

I keep getting the email saying they are about to expire, what do I use them for?
Also the root account is locked so I can't get any more details unless I make another account without logging in.
I have a working install on my laptop and this install was done on a USB so I believe I should be able to access it from there in some way.
Any recommendations on what to do first?
Total budget (in local currency) and country of purchase. Please do not use USD unless purchasing in the US:
Purchasing in Australia, budget of ~$2300 AUD.
Are you open to refurbs/used?
I would rather new but if it's that much of a deal I'm fine with it.
How would you prioritize form factor (ultrabook, 2-in-1, etc.), build quality, performance, and battery life?
Would like good build quality, something that won't break; minimum battery life per charge of 12 hours; and the rest just needs to run things listed below.
How important is weight and thinness to you?
Below 2Kg preferably, I would need to carry it around a lot. Thinness doesn't really matter.
Do you have a preferred screen size? If indifferent, put N/A.
preferably 15"-17", when I have used smaller laptops they feel tiny. Smaller is still acceptable though.
Are you doing any CAD/video editing/photo editing/gaming? List which programs/games you desire to run.
I use CAD software semi-frequently, mainly freeCAD but if I had the specs I would use fusion; I use unity for game development; blender for modelling; I would like to be able to play the games "flyout" and "Kerbal space program".
If you're gaming, do you have certain games you want to play? At what settings and FPS do you want?
I want to be able to tell what things are and atleast 30fps.
Any specific requirements such as good keyboard, reliable build quality, touch-screen, finger-print reader, optical drive or good input devices (keyboard/touchpad)?
Reliable build quality is a must. some projects I do mean I will need atleast 16gb of ram and 2-4gb vram; radeon(including ryzen integrated) and NVIDIA graphics are preferred; ryzen or Intel CPU, specs just need to run the software above well.
For ports I need atleast 1x HDMI port, 2x USB A, 1x USB C, and 1x 3.5mm audio; I would like to have 1x SD card slot and 1x ethernet port.
Leave any finishing thoughts here that you may feel are necessary and beneficial to the discussion.
I do not want a Dell. I have had a Dell for about 2 year, the amount of issues is difficult and the support is very much not helpful.
I would also like something that is repairable by the user. It doesn't have to be easy I just need something with parts availablity.
I have been looking at ThinkPads and frames laptops mainly. Are those good options at this budget? What else should I look at?
Hi everyone. I'm looking to get a ThinkPad later in the year. I have a budget of ~$2000 AUD but lower is good.
I have requirements of:
16gb ram or more
2gb vram, more is better
AMD graphics preferably
512gb or more ssd
Slot for a second SSD(preferably, HDD is acceptable)
1920x1080 @60hz screen(or higher)
Preferably a 38-41 cm screen (15"-16") as that's what I am used to with my current laptop.
Preferably not with copilot+ or NPU as I believe that would be a higher price for a feature which is uneeded and will go unused. Of other specs make it more cost effective it is fine though
Preferably not windows 11 pro for the same reason.
I will be running arch Linux on here.
I will need to run unity, blender, freecad(or fusion 360 with wine if possible), jetbrains suite, gimp, and clip studio paint (some with compatibility layers for obvious reasons)
