I like the ideas of obsidian from what I've read but one of the main things I love in notion is the inline database tables

For example say you are going on a trip

In notion I would have a trip page and create an inline database table

Then in that table I have a list of things to buy, with the name, description, tagged status of purchased vs. need to purchase, cost

I can then sort the table in the note by status, calculate the total cost of the items at the bottom, all dynamically inline in the note without going to a separate page or app

What's the equivalent of doing that in obsidian?

I saw there is something called dataview but it sounds like if you used that you would end up with one file per table row which sounds kind of crazy since each row is only a few columns of data.

Doing an oil change it uses 4.2L of oil

It makes me curious isn't that a lot for only a 1000cc engine?

My car (Subaru forester with a 2.5L engine) uses the same amount of oil for an oil change (4.2L)

What do you think is the engineering reason these engines have such high oil capacity?

I've used the typical roll-top duffles on ADV bikes a lot but one thing I find annoying is that every time I need to open/close it I need to release the straps (cam straps or rok straps) and then re-tension them again after closing it.

Its a lot of faffing about just to get one item out

Does anyone know if any company makes a duffle that attaches to a top plate and can be opened closed without messing around with straps like this?

For example by attaching at the bottom of the bag instead of going over the opening

I saw MEC recently expanded to more ultralight gear

https://www.mec.ca/en/category/2kg-project

How do you think this stacks up against other stuff now that they show the prices?

Personally it seems more expensive than I was expecting for MEC but I guess it remains to be seen the quality of the gear in practice

They did already have an UL sleeping bag prior to this but the reviews didn't seem great https://www.mec.ca/en/product/6022-629/mec-talon-0c-ultralight-hybrid-sleeping-bag-unisex
