Hi everyone!

I bought a home recently and my closing date is at the end of May. Everything so far has gone really smoothly and I’m just in the waiting stage for the lawyer appt. Issue is, there has been quite a few expenses that have come up in the last few weeks, home related and not home related and my budget has become a bit tighter than normal. I do not know how much exactly I will need to bring to the lawyers office and I’d like to have a pretty solid cushion to ensure I have enough. Some of these expenses have gone onto my credit card (2 months house insurance, utility deposits, etc) and I’m carrying about 2k on my cards right now (about 15 percent total utilization between 2 cards). When I was approved I had $50 on my cards so a pretty big jump in credit card utilization. I’m torn right now between paying off my credit cards and having less of a cushion for the lawyer appt or leaving it and hoping that 2k on my cards doesn’t screw me over with my lender. Has anyone been in a similar situation? What did you do?
