Pasting Text into GDocs is removing all formatting by default

I am a screenwriter - and one of my current projects requires that I submit each screenplay as a Google Doc.

If you are familiar with screenplays, there is a LOT of formatting involved, which a screenwriting software takes care of. Writerduet, my preferred software, is also helpful enough to export said screenplay as a .docx file.

But here, my troubles begin:

  1. When I export the screenplay as a DOCX or an RTF file, open that Document, Select All, and copy-paste to GDocs - it pastes the entire shebang in Arial, even when I haven't used Shift to "paste without formatting". Is there a way to use 'source' formatting here?

  2. When I copy-paste something directly from the software's tab to the Docs tab - it ignores all of the auto-capitalisation used in that software and takes the letters as I must have manually typed them, and my screenplay looks like a mess of cases.

  3. When I upload a Word Doc directly onto Google Drive - it turns some of the Scene Headings and Character names into "Small Caps" - the first letter is large, while the rest are smaller, while still being capital. The font size appears to be the same.

What can I do to simply carry forth formatting from a Word or RTF file into GDocs?
