Adductor cramps - help?
Hi - not new to Pilates, but took a couple of years off for a variety of reason(mostly financial). Started back and did fairly well at my 1.0 class, but when feet in straps, I get a really painful cramp deep in my left adductor. I try to stay slow and controlled, but it will still show up about midway through. I have to stretch when I get it and it isn't super easy to stretch it without sticking my leg out to the side, or taking my foot out of the strap and resting on the bar.
Anyone know how to alleviate this or prevent it from happening? It seems to alarm the instructors and when I tell them what is happening, they have acted like it is odd. It is a cramp and not a strain - it goes away as soon as I give it a rest. I have sciatic pain down my right leg, so I wonder if left leg is over compensating? The feet in straps makes the sciatic pain disappear! I am a bit of a clunky mess!
Trying to work up leg strength to get back to cardio sculpt classes - they are my favorite! Thanks!
