Well that was lucky! You can shiny hunt 100% only Nidorino in Safari Zone 2 on Fire Red with a repel trick. I used a Starmie level 29 for Illuminate, and a White Flute as well to stack the encounter boost. However, it’s very easy to accidentally encounter a pokemon that isn’t Nidorino after your repel trick ends. Luckily, it was Nidoran ♂** **I was actually in disbelief. This hunt was 2 phases. The 1st phase, Nidorino shined at 4207, but fled with my first bait throw (brutal). This shiny Nidoran arrived at 5623! Can’t wait to evolve into Nidoking, one of the nicest Gen 3 shinies!

Took 4207 encounters to arrive, and about 10 seconds to depart. PAIN
