Question: I ordered from a seller and they provided a tracking number. It never updated beyond the “tracking provided.” I had messaged them and they claimed it would update but it never did. As the Item was never received by shipping company, I waited for it to time out and automatically canceled the order. Based on the amount of canceled orders in their history, this isn’t uncommon.
My question is, if a seller repeatedly abuses the “provide the tracking but don’t actually ship” loophole, what consequences do they face? I can’t leave negative feedback, but I get a refund. Presumably they don’t get the funds either. Why not just say to the buyer, “hey, I need to cancel this” instead of stringing me along until I have the ability to cancel the order?
