So I need opinions because this situation genuinely confused me 😭
A family relative introduced me to this guy. We were messaging for around 2 months, asking me loads of questions about marriage, life, general stuff etc. Bearing in mind, he lives in a different city in the UK.
Eventually we met up once. The date was alright, just casual conversation trying to get to know each other. I didn’t think much of it because personally I can’t decide if I want to marry someone after meeting them ONE time. I thought maybe after meeting a few more times I’d know better.
Anyway, after I got home he messages me asking for my dad’s number because he wants to meet my family. Straight away. I told him respectfully that we literally only met once and I think we should meet a few more times first because I barely know him yet. To me that felt really intense and a bit weird.
He agreed at first… then literally a week later he asks again for my dad’s number and sends me this long paragraph about how he’s serious and wants to get married to me Jan 2026.
Mind you:
- I’ve only met him ONCE
- He has never called me, not even once
- We only message
I basically told him he needs to be realistic because what exactly is the rush? I barely know you 😭
The whole thing started giving me the biggest ick and honestly just confused me. Am I overreacting or does this seem weirdly rushed to everyone else too?
