Hey all. I grew up in a small town (30,000) in upstate NY that was fairly conservative with liberal pockets. Made for a good mix of people. I have lived in Vegas, Buffalo, Fort Collins, Salt Lake, Tucson, and now Anchorage (travel healthcare). None of them have felt like home other than Buffalo so far. I miss the northeast all the time and want to settle there and would love any input on a place in New England that is relatively purple. I would love a place where people don’t make politics their personality as, despite this post, I find a persons politics to be the least interesting thing about them. (I’m a registered independent). I come in peace and have a “respect and be kind to me and I will respect and be kind to you” attitude on life. Don’t care if you’re MAGA or LGBTQ+ so long as you are a good person at heart.
Ideally close to mountains but not in the boonies. I love skiing, xc skiing, hiking, running, Trader Joe’s, Wegmans, a decent airport, fishing, and a good food scene. I don’t mind driving an hour to an hour and a half and plan to start a family in this place so decent schools/universities would be a plus.
Any responses or discussion would be greatly appreciated! Hope others find the responses to this post helpful. Thank you in advance!
