Ridiculous with all the millions spent on the installation of smart meters that some people are being booted off smart tariffs due to poor signal. It's a bit of a blow to my finances as we've 2 plug in hybrid cars and heat our water at night on the cheaper rate.

UPDATE: I called Electric Ireland and they informed me that while my tariff plan name is changing, my unit rates and discount will remain the same. So I'll still be on a smart tariff, the only difference is that instead of my data being transmitted every 30 mins, it will be transmitted every 2 months. They were not willing to help in any way with the signal strength and told me I must contact the ESB.
