In a sea of kamado posts, please let me show off my first attempt at a low and slow cook

I decided to try out some beef short ribs for my first attempt at a low and slow cook. Snake method worked a treat. Bark was great. 7 hour cook where I managed to stabilise the temp at about 135 for the whole thing. I didn’t wrap but gave it a spritz when required. Hardly took the lid off during the early stages which I think added to the result.

All I wanted was a lovely result and to be able to see a smoke ring, and I was so happy to see one! Only downside is that ribs came apart whilst trimming so I didn’t get to cut down between the bones, but I’m still happy with how it looks.

Chucked in a tray with veg and fat trimmings as a base for some gravy, which was finished with some red wine, stock, lemon juice and butter.

Massive boost in confidence and I’m already planning my next cook.

Applewood smoked chicken thighs, Chinese style honey chilli rub, lime and honey glaze. Veggies done underneath, and all the juice has been saved for a ramen broth later in the week.

I am looking to pull the trigger on my second guitar purchase within 4 months (after not having a new one in 14ish years) and I am debating two models based on their pickups. My newest guitar has DiMarzio Fusion Edge pickups, which I have been enjoying, but I would like to try something else.

First is the RGR5221R (orange) which features Bareknuckle Brute Force pickups.

Second is the RGR5121RB (gray) which features Fishman Fluence Moderns.

5221 is in stock and ready to ship, whereas the 5121 is expected to be in stock again late-June, in my area anyway.

I enjoy playing with a lot of distortion, mostly writing prog metal, metalcore and Deathcore, but I use a lot of clean tones too.

Having never played with either types of pickups and seeing positive arguments for both, has anyone played any of the two models, or both, or just have input on how the pickups fair in other Ibanez models? Thanks!

I have the opportunity to buy the RGR5221 orange prestige model, but either option i.e., 5221 or 5221r.

I understand the main difference is the 2020 version features a Macassar ebony fretboard, and the 2025 update feature a rosewood fingerboard.

Is it a subtle difference or should I be aiming for one in particular?
