Got laid off the day before my birthday today

For some context, I graduated in May of 2025 last year cum laude with a bachelor's in robotics engineering. I was job searching, interviewing, and working a dead end job just to scrape by until I found my first entry level role back in March. While in this role, I drove TWO HOURS EVERYDAY to work and back. I did this for a month while I was searching for an apartment. I put down a deposit and paid the prorated rent for the month. I was telling everyone at the office that and how excited I was to not have to do the commute anymore. Then yesterday happened. I was working on a project when the vice president called me for a meeting. I was followed and found myself alone in a conference room with my supervisor, the vice president and president. They informed me that due to financial struggles, the company couldn't justify keeping me on their payroll and they laid me off right then and there. They had the audacity to ask me if I could get my money back from the apartment complex AFTER I SIGNED THE LEASE. The worst part is I still had to play nice and pretend like I wasn't crushed or hurt by them backstabbing me. I never felt so crushed when I had to clean out my office and leave. In conclusion, NTs are incapable of empathy and we should all be evil instead of taking the high road and letting them walk all over us
