I came across this article today claiming that junior (L3) offers are down almost 60% since 2022.
The craziest part is they cite telemetry data saying seniors aren't actually shipping more, they're just spending all their time reviewing AI-generated slop (PR review times are apparently up 91%). But management thinks Seniors + Copilot = 3x output, so they just stopped hiring juniors entirely to save money.
