Normally my dog is the one trying to chase birds away, but for the last couple of days this bird (or maybe several birds - there are a few of the same kind around our backyard) has been diving down at my dog and completely bewildering her (and us).

I don’t know much about birds, but I’d love to know what kind of bird this is so I can learn more about it and whether this behavior is typical for the species. Is my dog doing something that’s making the bird defensive? Or could they actually just be playing?

Started this 4x4 wood panel painting at about 12w pregnant and finished it at 32w. I have a tendency to make my paintings way more complicated and detailed than they needed to be and pregnancy didn’t stop me from doing that here 🤣 there’s things I’d change but at this point I’ve gotta stop because time is ticking. I hope she loves it 💕

Husband will make a floating mount frame for it.
