i cant with the OTP mage going top.

I’m Plat 3 right now, and I imagine it only gets worse in higher ranks.

So with ADC tops, I’m guaranteed to have a terrible laning experience and absolutely no fun. But somehow, I will most of the time still end up winning in the end just by playing for teamfights. The ADC tops I play against have 96 brain cells dedicated to poking and 2 left for macro, so at least there’s something positive about those matchups.

Mage tops, on the other hand especially the midlane OTPs let me interact a bit more, but every single one I’ve faced has had good wave management and spacing. And usually, even if I manage to get a kill or two during lane phase by blowing everything I have on them, ignite, flash, everything. I still get out-macroed once mid game starts. Especially if their teammates are ahead, they won’t give me any easy opportunities to snowball even further, and they’ll just hard clear waves before I can take down their towers.

I don’t understand how I’m supposed to play against these mages, especially when their team is ahead on bot side. Like, I’ll go for third drake fight , then go back top, and even if I was ahead from one or two kills and some CS, those mfs will have closed the gap in both CS and XP by a huge margin. And at some point, they’ll show up in some random fight and just annihilate my team.

I mean, I’ve definitely had the classic autofilled “mage” supports back when I was in Silver and Gold, Lux, Xerath, Brand, all that stuff who take your CS and miss every skillshot but will KS any occasion with their Ult.

But now I’m in Emerald 2, my day-to-day experience is having super passive, “good boy” supports who just wait for me to lead for the first 15 minutes of the game.
And when I do get an autofilled support now, they’re actually trading and exchanging cooldowns pretty well. Even had some OTP eve jungle that actually worked on supp lol.

Do you guys still get terrible autofilled supports at higher elo?
Because aside from those guys in Silver and Gold who just spam abilities on the wave to take the gold, I don’t think I’ve actually had a genuinely bad experience with autofilled supports while climbing after that.

It’s pretty rare, but sometimes I get games where I have absolutely no ganking options early during the first jungle clears. Either all my lanes im pathing toward constantly hard push while the enemy laners are almost full HP, or/and my teammates just die 1v1 while perma-pushing as I’m starting my clear on their side.

It’s maybe like 1 game out of 15, but honestly I have no idea what I’m supposed to do in that kind of scenario. I just paht to a direction, someone dies, and since they’re already losing their matchup, they start dying even faster. On top of that, I almost never see the enemy jungler early because they don’t even need to gank.

These kinds of games freak me out a lil bit, ngl.

And I play Nunu, which probably doesn’t help my case to begin with. I’ve been trying to find a good jungle champion that doesn’t require button mashing or insane skill shots while still offering some playmaking, but right now I’ve only got good boy Nunu & goat Willump.

I’m currently Gold 3, mostly playing Kog’Maw and Vayne, and 1 out of 5 games i will keep running into players who just completely lose it. The moment an enemy support roams on their lane and mine stay bot, they start mad spam pinging, typing “diff”, and then either AFK farm or straight-up run it down while blaming me or my support.

Had one of the most ironic games ever, enemie Rakan roamed mid ONCE to gank my Sylas and took like 1/3 of his HP. Sylas instantly tilted, started hard inting on other lane, and wrote a whole essay about how bot lane was trolling him and that ranked is meaningless because Riot “inflated everything in s16,” so he’s stuck playing with “apes.”
And then he proceeded to make bot lane his home, auto-attacking tower until he died every time.
Meanwhile all this i was 10/2 with a 2/2 Sona.

I feel like my mechanics are pretty solid that’s mostly why I’m climbing right now, my macro is pretty bad in doubt i will always resort to try and siege. In those situations where your top or mid just perma-sidelanes and dies over and over… is there actually a way to capitalize on that?
