Do registry offices accept a letter from a hotel manager as proof of residence?

We live abroad and therefore do not have an address in the UK where we’re getting married. My grandmother lives in London though.

I love my nan but I don’t think I could stay with her for 9 days, so I thought we could stay in a hotel. But I can’t seem to find any official information detailing what couples in our situation do. There is a bullet point basically saying the owner of the property can sign a letter confirming your stay so I’m assuming a hotel manager could do that for us. But I don’t want to assume. Loads of couple come to get legally married in the UK so there must be a way!

I did also wonder if I could get my nan to sign a letter confirming our stay but we could stay in a hotel. I mean, who’s checking?! We will still be at her house visiting at least. Uh this rule seems so archaic 🫠.

But yeah, if anyone else has been in our boat, let me know what you did!

How do I exit a connection with someone?

I live in a medium size town, not too small but I could bump into this person. I met this other woman on a Facebook group for expats and we agreed to meet up with our husbands. The thing is, she was nice and all but I just think she would annoy the crap out of me if I kept meeting up with her. I guess we’re on different pages, you could say. So I don’t really want to meet her again.

But ever since our initial meetup, she’s been messaging me and inviting me to things. And I’m thinking in my head ‘respectfully, I don’t want to talk to you anymore’. I feel so bad because I want to be that girl who can accept anyone. But this girl is just not my vibe at all.

So how do I politely phase her out? I feel like ghosting is rude but then also saying ‘you’re annoying’ is rude too. Is there ever a good way to do this?

Anyone out there with crazy back pain in PMS?

Ladies: I need to feel better about myself. Is there anyone else that experiences TMJ flareup back pain after ovulation?

My jaw is stiffer and both my upper and my lower back hurt so much! It gives me a headache sometimes. Anyone else get such bad back pain you can’t function?

Wedding reception venues in London.

I know I want a town hall wedding ceremony but when it comes to the reception, I have no idea. I want somewhere with a vibe. Somewhere that allows music and also not £££ crazy expensive. I’m willing to pay ‘London prices’ but not luxury celeb level moneyzz. It would be max 40 people.

Give me all your venue recommendations!
