Hi there! My friend needs a new needle for their turntable and I want to get it for her as a little surprise. Unfortunately, I’m unsure what the model of turntable she has. I know it’s an Audio Technica, and is probably one of the more basic models. (And i can’t look at the moment bc she’s put it away bc no needle and I don’t want to raise suspicion). She’s mentioned it’s ~$50 if that’s any help.

Is there a general, one size fits all type needle I can buy? Or do they each have specific ones they need?
