Hi guys!

So I've had my switch 2 for a little over a month. It was working fine until one evening I docked it to charge and when I returned it did not charge.

Dock light was blinking and so I figured the dock was the issue. Went through the factory reset and updates etc.

I then tried to charge the switch just with the cable and it didn't work. I tried other suitable cables and still no charge. I could only charge from the top port.

I inspected the port and made sure it was clean and dry. It was.

I took it back to the store from which I purchased it and I was unfortunately 5 days outside of the 30 day warranty and so I had no choice but to send it to Nintendo.

They have since come back to me advising liquid damage and corrosion was found in the port. The quote is €258 for replacement.

I can not understand how this occurred. The switch has been stored either docked or in a case. My previous switch never had such a problem. My home isn't abnormally humid.

I've seen a few people reporting the same issue with Nintendo repair.

Can this happen after a month of normal use and no exposure to water?

If I pay for the replacement won't it just reoccur?

I have attached the photos they provided when I queried this.

TLDR: Switch 2 stopped charging from bottom port - Nintendo Repair claim liquid damage and corrosion. Not exposed to water and stored correctly. Only purchased a month ago.
