Hi everyone,

I get hints of the dreaded mildew, musty sock mold smell. It goes away after a few minutes but seems to return whenever the AC/heat/vent runs. Basically, anytime anything in the air vents is running for the first time. I have a 2022 id4 pro s.

It stinks for a few minutes then seems to go away. Or maybe i'm just getting used to the smell thanks to all the mold spores filling up the cabin.

I've tried replacing the air filter, spraying the heck out of the area with anything, even industrial sprays like frigi-fresh. It has not worked. It works for a bit with an overpowering cleaning spray smell that last a few weeks but the mold smell always comes back.

I gues the next step is something foaming and sticking it up the evaporator drain tube, tearing apart the carpet to get at it...

Anyone else have this issue? I'm wondering what everyone else might have tried and if anything worked.

I'm trying to decide which is better. Revzilla currently has the Avertum for $300 less on sale (select sizes only).

I think the Avertum is older. The plasma is slimmer and lighter. I believe both have self-refillable canisters. The Avertum needs servicing after 3 deployments while the Plasma is 6.

My concern is protection. I know the Plasma sacrifices some coverage for the thinner profile. It is really an amazing wear.

But is the Avertum any different? Do they both have the same coverage? From images of the airbag, i feel like they cover the exact same areas. The back protector on the Avertum seems heftier and longer.

Any one have any recommendations? I figure the airbag, elbow guards, and an abrasion rated jacket will be the best combo for me. The in-jacket pads just always move around too much and i can't get things to fit correctly ie. leather jackets that shoudl be snug are always too loose. I'll leave them in regardless but i'm not too confident they'd do much for me since they'll move too much.
