Immigrating in the early 2010s, I’m a bit ashamed to admit this, but whenever I open Reddit, I see posts from r/CanadaJobs, r/CanadaFinance, and r/ImmigrationCanada about scams and abuse of the system, and it really gets to me. When I meet people in Abbotsford (I’ve been here about a year, but have lived in BC for over five years), everything feels completely normal and people are so friendly, it’s almost overwhelming, lol. But there’s always this doubt that they might be the same people posting online. I don’t know, I feel like I should detox from the internet. I can’t be the only one feeling this way, right?
